How this campaign collects, uses, and protects your information.

Moeller for Mayor 2026 (the "Campaign," "we," or "us") is the campaign committee supporting Mike Moeller's candidacy for Mayor of Marina, California. This policy explains what information mikeformarina.com (the "Site") collects, what we do with it, and the choices you have.
Information you give us
The Site has three forms. The email signup asks for your name and email address. The contact form asks for your name, email address, an optional phone number, and your message. The volunteer form asks for your name, email address, an optional phone number, how you would like to help, whether we may use your name publicly as a supporter, and whether you would rather not join the campaign mailing list.
Everything you submit is stored in a database hosted by Cloudflare and emailed to the Campaign so we can respond. You are not required to give us any of it to browse the Site.
Contributions are made on Anedot, a separate payment platform, not on this Site. The Campaign never sees or stores your card details. California law requires the Campaign to collect and publicly report certain information about contributors, which may include your name, address, occupation, and employer. That requirement comes from state law and the Fair Political Practices Commission, and reported information becomes part of the public record.
Information collected automatically
The Site is hosted on Cloudflare. Like any web host, Cloudflare receives technical details of each request, such as your IP address, browser, device type, and the page requested, and uses them to deliver pages and keep the Site secure and available. We do not use this information to identify or profile individual visitors.
The contact and volunteer forms use Cloudflare Turnstile to tell people from automated abuse. Turnstile loads from Cloudflare when a form is shown and may set a cookie that is strictly necessary for that check.
We count page views using Cloudflare's analytics service. That count records only the page viewed and the website that referred you. It sets no cookie and records no IP address or other identifier.
Cookies and Google Tag Manager
The Site uses Google Tag Manager to manage measurement tags, which may include Google Analytics. Google Tag Manager loads on every page and receives the address of the page you are viewing. The tags it manages use Google Consent Mode, so they may only store or read cookies in the categories you have allowed.
A consent tool sorts cookies into four categories: essential, functional, analytics, and marketing. Essential cookies keep the Site working and remember your choice, and cannot be switched off. The other three are permitted until you tell us otherwise. A notice on your first visit lets you accept all, reject all, or choose by category, and your choice is kept for one year. You can change it at any time using the Cookies link in the footer of any page.
If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, the Site treats it as a rejection of analytics and marketing cookies automatically, and you will not be shown the notice.
Embedded video
Some pages embed video hosted on YouTube, a Google service. The player loads from YouTube only when you choose to open it, not when you simply view a page. Once it loads, YouTube may collect information about your device and viewing, set cookies, and connect that activity to your Google account if you are signed in, all under Google's privacy policy rather than this one. We use YouTube's privacy-enhanced embed mode, which limits the cookies YouTube sets until you play the video.
How we use and share information
We use what you give us to reply to you, to organise volunteers, to send campaign updates to people who signed up for them, and to meet our campaign finance obligations. If you asked us to use your name as a supporter, we may list it in campaign materials. You can ask us to stop emailing you, or to take your name down, at any time by contacting us.
We do not sell your information, and we do not share it with other campaigns or organisations for their own purposes. We share it only with the providers that run the Site for us: Cloudflare, which hosts the Site and stores form submissions; Mailgun, which delivers the email notifications our forms generate; and Anedot, which processes contributions. Each may use it only to provide its service to the Campaign.
We disclose information where the law requires it, including public campaign finance reporting, and in response to lawful requests from public authorities.
Other websites
The Site links to other websites, including Facebook, Instagram, and Anedot. Those sites have their own privacy practices, and this policy does not apply to them.
Keeping and protecting information
We keep what you give us for as long as we need it to communicate with supporters through the election, and for as long as California campaign finance rules require us to keep records. After that we delete it.
The Site is served over an encrypted connection and we take reasonable steps to protect the information we hold, but no method of storage or transmission is completely secure. Please do not send sensitive information to the Campaign by email.
The Site is intended for adults and we do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
Your choices and rights
You can ask us what information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it, by contacting us using the details below. We may need to confirm who you are first. Information that California campaign finance law requires us to report or keep may not be deletable for that reason.
We do not sell personal information, and we honor Global Privacy Control signals as an opt-out of the sharing of personal information.
Changes to this policy
If we change what the Site collects or how we use it, we will update this page and the date at the top.
